Announcing the Diving Sciences Symposium March 24, 2023

Join us, won’t you, for the Diving Sciences Symposium, which will be held March 24, 2023, at the Meadowlands Exhibition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. Beneath the Sea and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society are co-sponsoring this program. This year’s Diving Sciences Symposium has been developed and will be produced by Dr David Charash. This full day  program offers the most up-to-date information on Dive Safety, Dive Technology, and Dive Medicine. The target audience are divers of all classifications as well as medical providers that care for the diving community.  

Our featured speakers this year include Dan Orr, Richie Kohler, Frauke Tillmans Phd, Camilo Saraiva MD, Louis Defelice, Dr Aurel Mihai and Dr David Charash.  The diverse topics will include Dive safety Planning, Current Guidelines for Medical Fitness in Diving, Technical Diving: Training and Fitness, The science of diving expeditions, Understanding Saturation Diving and Medications in Diving: What Every Diver Needs to Know.  

The program has been granted 6.6 hours of AMA Category 1 CME.

Dr Charash is a Dive Medicine Physician, Board Certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.  He has cared for the undersea community for 30 years. He is the producer of the Fitness In Diving Podcast found on Apple and Spotify, and is a Consultant with Dive Medicine and Hyperbaric Consultants. He supports the commercial diving industry, public safety diving community, as well as the recreational and military diving community and scientific diving community.  He is a volunteer researcher with Divers Alert Network.  He is the 2022 DAN/Rolex Diver of the Year.
