- Marine litter recovered: In 2023, Healthy Seas recovered 86.5 tons of waste, bringing the total to 991 tons of fishing nets and other marine litter removed since 2013. This weight is equivalent to the weight of 6.4 blue whales, the largest animal on earth, or 225 orcas.

Expanding Impact:
In 2023, Healthy Seas conducted cleanup operations globally, ensuring the removal of abandoned fishing nets and marine debris from oceans worldwide. Notable efforts in California, Hong Kong, and South Korea spotlight the foundation’s commitment to preserving marine ecosystems. With 550 volunteer divers contributing 257 diving days, the foundation removed ghost fishing gear alongside Ghost Diving, symbolizing its dedication to marine ecosystem preservation.

Through unprecedented growth in educational initiatives, Healthy Seas engaged nearly 15,000 individuals worldwide in collaborative programs focused on raising awareness about marine litter, climate change, circular economy, and sustainable consumption.
