3rd International Diving Conference to Showcase Breakthrough Technologies, Safety Research and 30 Years of Greek Exploration

Athens, Greece – 23 June 2025 – Hellas Underwater Explorers / George Petrou (HUE), in  collaboration with the American College of Greece (ACG), will convene the 3rd International  Diving Conference: “Developments in Technical / Recreational Diving & Ocean Pollution and  Protection of the Underwater Environment” on Saturday, 15 November 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the  ACG Events Hall, Gravias 6, Agia Paraskevi, 153 42 Greece. 

The free, one-day forum will assemble cutting-edge equipment manufacturers, researchers and  training agencies for technical sessions, live demonstrations and networking. 

“From pioneering mixed-gas expeditions in the 1990s to mapping Greece’s most complex cave  systems today, HUE has always pushed boundaries,” said George Petrou, Founder and President of  HUE. “This anniversary conference is both a tribute to our history and a launchpad for the next  generation of environmentally minded explorers.” 

Selected Speaker Line-Up 

The program features a cross-disciplinary roster of experts including Demetrios Kourkoumelis,  Director of the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities, Dr Vasilis Giannopoulos, Geologist & Cave  Explorer, and Dr Pavlos Vavasis, Director of Hyperbaric Diving Athens, among others drawn from  academia, medicine, equipment development and field exploration. Topics range from  archaeological diving parks and cave-mapping techniques to advances in decompression science  and rebreather technology.

Registration & Amenities 

Attendance is free of charge, but advance registration is required via the online form at hue.gr.  Complimentary catering will be provided, and on-site parking is available at ACG on a first-come,  first-served basis.
